Good service, good choice of buffet style breakfast, good leisure facilities, good position on sea front.
The extra cost of a sea view room room was high.
We found the room very uncomfortable. The room was far to hot and we were not able to control the temperature. Also the electrics were not working and we had to ring down for assistance. This hotel was not what we thought it would be and would not stay again.
As it was my wifes birthday it matter alot how good it was,our room was really lovely and my wife was so pleased, but the bed was not that comfy as the two mattresses are not conected, but other than that room was greatWe did have the internet accesse in our room but we did think that at £15.00 a nite is a bit steap..Breakfast was really great on saturday morning, but sunday morning you were quite busy and we were forgotton, had to ask for tea and coffee 3 times, and we thought having a seaview room that we could sit in the window, but we were put right in the middel,a little more attention with your customer needs would be great as I did ask if we could sit else were as my wife has hearing aids and it was very busy and loud. But please dont think that these little problems will put us of we love your hotel.
Our bed.internet price and price of food and bar prices
the breakfast was and waiter service at breakfast was first class
Traditional hotel which made it seem more friendly. staff friendly. dance Gala Dinner Dance was an excellent. event.
No hot water on New years eve only luke warm
The comfortable feel of an old established hotel during a very cold spell and being well looked after by the staff and enjoying breakfast and evening dinner.
Convenient for where I was workng - second visit. Hopefully, back again in March 2011
I thought the hotel looked beautiful but the room l was given did not reflect this even though l saw some other rooms that did the spa did look very inviting
staff not realising that the room was already given to another person he was moved to a much better room than the one we received with no appollgy
Staff in the restaurant at breakfast time were very friendly and went the extra mile even though it was extremely busy. Entrance has wow factor. Cleaning staff held doors open for you.
Poor decor in bedrooms, tired furnishings and furniture, poor maintenance to bedrooms and bathrooms.
An elegant hotel with immense history. All the staff were helpful and courteous. The reception areas were comfortable and relaxing. A problem with the bathroom extractor fan was repaired by maintenance within a few hours but we were upgraded to a suite because of the inconvenience. The leisure centre within the hotel was excellent. The food served in the impressive dining room was of a high standard.
On our arrival at lunchtime we ordered bar snacks and considered the menu of snacks available to be very expensive.
The location was probably the only good thing I liked about this hotel.
Wasnt family oriented and no entertainment at hotel.
swimming pool was lovely initially but spoiled by a local swimming instructor insisting on cordoning the pool off as she had booked it for her lesson this should not have been allowed during busy half term.Restaurant for breakfast was very good and staff very efficient
We had to wait over an hour after the check in.Weather was atrocious so had no option but to stay in the lounge. There was no fan in the bathroom,Tile on the floor was loose and my grand daughter caught her foot on it.The maintenance man the next day said someone had tried to stick it back with chewing gum and he was disgusted with it--and so were we!! The view was nil and the bathroom had no window and the vent fan did not work. The hotel was spoiled by its shabbiness ceilings and walls.
Beautiful architecture, delicious breakfasts, comfortable bed, brilliant swimming pool and jacuzzi
Bed sheet had a stain. The sheet was changed promptly in the morning but when it was removed there were hairs on the mattress so it obviously hadn't been cleaned properly.
The room was clean & very comfortable. The dining room staff were very helpful at breakfast time and reception staff were also friendly and helpful.
They overcharged us for the Saturday night. However when we contacted them to complain they did apologise and arrange a refund.
needs refurb. should have family bar and adult only bar. dissapointing break
hotel and the final cost at hotel taking bb evening meal was very expensive and could have stayed at de vere where we usually go much cheaper. De vere from now on
